Both are ridiculously expensive at $3.9 million (Lamborghini Veneno) and $1.3 million (Ferrari LaFerrari) and extremely limited (3 Venenos and 499 LaFerraris).

The LaFerrari is also the first hybrid ever created by the famed automaker. Below you will find pictures, specs and details about these engineering marvels.
The Lamborghini Veneno
In the year of its 50th anniversary Lamborghini is presenting an extremely exclusive model at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. Only three unique units of the Lamborghini Veneno will be built and sold. With a maximum output of 552 kW / 750 hp, the Veneno accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and the top speed for this street-legal racing car stands at 355 km/h. It is priced at three million Euros plus tax – and all three units have already been sold to customers.
The Lamborghini Veneno Continued…
The Lamborghini Veneno features a twelve-cylinder power unit with a displacement of 6.5 liters, a fast-shifting 7-speed ISR transmission with 5 driving modes and permanent all-wheel drive, as well as a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units. The Veneno benefits from the expertise Lamborghini possesses in the development and execution of carbon-fiber materials – the complete chassis is produced as a CFRP monocoque, as is the outer skin. The inside features Lamborghini-patented materials such as Forged Composite and CarbonSkin.

The name of the Veneno originates from a legendary fighting bull. Veneno is the name of one of the strongest and most aggressive fighting bulls ever. He is also famous for being one of the fastest bulls in the history of bullfighting. His name became popular in 1914, when he fatally wounded the famous torero José Sánchez Rodríguez during the bullfight in the arena Sanlúcar de Barrameda’s, Andalusia, Spain.
The Lamborghini Veneno Continued…
- The Veneno is painted in a grey metallic-look color with individual parts gleaming in the black of the visible carbon-fiber structure. The only car to display all three colors of the Italian flag as an accent is the car shown at Geneva, the unit which will remain property of Lamborghini. The three cars sold to customers each feature a single color of the Italian national flag, together a triology in green, white and red accents and thus representing each a unique piece.

- With a dry weight of 1,450 kilograms (3,190 pounds), the Veneno is 125 kilos (275 pounds) lighter than the already lean Aventador. The beneficial power-to-weight ratio of 1.93 kg/hp (4,25 lbs/hp) guarantees performance

This 'swarm' is made up of thousands of small red lights that cover the width of the boot and react to movements of the car.

The screens are designed to show other drivers what the driver it doing - but motoring organisations told MailOnline the technology should stay a concept.

When the wheel is turned left or right, the lights flow in the same direction. When the driver presses the accelerator the lights move faster, and when the car brakes the lights flow forward

When the driver turns the wheel, the red dots flow in the direction it has been turned.

When the car speeds up the number of dots, or 'fish', increase and they flow faster around the surface.

When the driver brakes, the dots slow down and flow forward onto the top of the boot.

Audi’s swarm lights are made up of thousands of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).

These diodes can be added to any surface.

When an electrical charge is put through this organic material, the diodes light up.

Audi claims these lights mean drivers in cars behind can always see what the driver of the car in front is doing.

However, a spokesman from the AA had a different view, 'The Swarm is a delightful concept design but under current lighting regulations it is probably best saved for aquariums or art galleries.'

If they pass safety tests, the swarm lighting could replace the traditional braking lights on future Audi cars.

Audi unveiled its swarm lighting technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas last week.

The German car maker also announced a laser tail light.

In good visibility, the laser tail light shines a fan-shaped red line from the back of the car.

It is used to prompt the driver behind to keep a safe distance, similar to a stop line.

In fog or spray, the laser beam bounces off the water in the air and turns the line into a triangle, similar to the warning triangle used on breakdowns.
This new concept in sustainable mobility consists of: a new electronically powered vehicle capable of cruising speeds in excess of 250 km/h (155 mph), new dedicated infrastructure (such as a dedicated lane on highways), and new logistics via a central routing optimization system.

While hard to pinpoint, some have suggested the Superbus is somewhere between a regular bus and a train. It’s advantage over the former is that it’s capable of vastly higher speeds and greater flexibility, not confined to a rigid schedule or route. As for the latter, infrastructure and implementation is cheaper and does not require the need for changeovers from target to destination. The Superbus’s promise of demand-dependent-door-to-door transportation is a feature neither bus or train has.

Below you will find a brief overview of this interesting concept along with images and additional specs on this new class of vehicle.

Created by California firm Aerofex, the vehicle is made from two ducted rotors facing the ground. Changing the angle of the rotors using two control sticks allows it to move.

A video of the machine being piloted has already become a YouTube hit. Initial plans to create a hoverbike were thwarted due to a complex control system. However, Aerofex created a system that responds to a human pilot's leaning movements and natural sense of balance.

The hoverbike shot to fame after featuring in Return of the Jedi, where is was used in a thrilling forest chase

'Imagine personal flight as intuitive as riding a bike,' the firm says on its website. 'Or transporting a small fleet of first-responder craft in the belly of a passenger transport. ' The firm also believes it could be used to patrol borders quickly, and say the craft can travel over any terrain. 'Think of the advantages of patrolling borders without first constructing roads.'

'Think of it as lowering the threshold of flight, down to the domain of ATV's (all-terrain vehicles),' said Mark De Roche, an aerospace engineer and founder of Aerofex.

'It essentially captures the translations between the two in three axis (pitch, roll and yaw), and activates the aerodynamic controls required to counter the movement — which lines the vehicle back up with the pilot,' De Roche told InnovationNewsDaily.

The Aerofex vehicle is controlled using knee bars, allowing the pilot to simply lean to change direction.

'Since [the pilot's] balancing movements are instinctive and constant, it plays out quite effortlessly to him.' However, sadly for Star Wars fans the firm says it has no plans to sell hoverbikes, instead planning a range of unmanned drones using the technology.

The hovering drones, would use two enclosed rotors. Aerofex has currently limited human flight testing to a height of 15 feet and speeds of about 30 mph.

The company plans to fly a second version of its vehicle in October, and is also preparing an unmanned drone version for flight testing by the end of 2013.
But before every rapper in the world rushes for their AmEx, this is just a demo model - real, driveable versions would have to have compromises such as windshields you can actually see through. ‘When Gemballa peaks of diamonds, we really mean it’, explains CEO Andreas Schwarz. ‘Our complex process uses genuine diamonds as its key ingredient - not metal pigments, glass fragments, or crystals.’

The paint is made from diamonds ground down to a dust that still sparkles, so it can be applied to cars like a paint. The German company claims that the sheer number of tiny diamonds in the coating leads to an 'incomparable' shine. As yet, Gemballa has not released a price for the paint - or for the carbon-fibre supercars it intends to spray with it.

Gemballa makes tuned-up supercars based on Porsche and McLaren models. 'Apart from having the strongest light refraction properties of all the precious stones, which explains their seductive twinkle, diamonds are one of the hardest naturally occurring substances known to man,' says the company. The requirement that the coating had to be applied like paint defined the dimensional limit of each individual gemstone.

'The challenge,' says a company spokeperson, 'was to grind the diamonds into a size small enough for their intended purpose, without losing their brilliance. Since a diamond reflects light according to the number of facets showing, this actually turned out to be an advantage.'

A Gemballa custom Porsche GTR: The company is famous for its rather over-the-top custom Porsches

'The greater the number of stones present in a given area, the greater the refractive surface, so the thousands of facets reflecting the light through the innovative process creates an incomparable shine.'

With a company philosophy that has always been focused on the ultimate and the best, this new diamond finish fits the Gemballa portfolio perfectly. And as diamonds are a form of carbon formed under extreme heat and pressure, they are the perfect finishing touch for the carbon-fibre bodywork of Gemballa's ultra-exclusive cars.'
But the new Porsche 918 Spyder may be about to change all that - for while it manages a top speed of 201mph, it also manages an economic 94 miles to the gallon. That makes the Porsche more economic than the car with one of the greenest reputations - the Toyota Prius - which can manage 72.4mpg.

The UK's biggest selling car, the Ford Fiesta, by contrast, manages just 78.5mpg.

The Porsche 918 Spyder will be able to accelerate from 0-62mph in less than three seconds - making it faster than most supercars on the road
The green Porsche works via a new hybrid system where two electric motors generate power alongside the car's 4.6-litre V8 engine

The attractive Porsche 918 Spyder will also be able to accelerate from 0-62mph in less than three seconds - making it faster than most supercars on the road. The Porsche manages the economy mileage thanks to a new hybrid system where two electric motors generate power alongside the car's 4.6-litre V8 engine, which pushes out around 570 horsepower. The electric motors each boost this up to a total of 770horsepower, helping the Porsche hit those super speeds.

The German-built vehicle will go into production in September next year - although be warned the price is a wallet-unfriendly $1.5million. However, that must be the price of a car that can make Jeremy Clarkson green with envy without giving Greenpeace too many sleepless nights.

The debut flight of the plane may serve as a warning to the U.S. air force, which has been plagued by a list of problems in their jets - including the revelation that some of their jets have a faulty oxygen system which have slowly been poisoning their pilots.

Sightings of the black plane taking off have again led to claims that the plane was developed off the back of stolen U.S. or Russian plans, a claim strongly denied by China.

The Chinese J-20 stealth fighters take too the air for test runs: The planes mark China's entry as the third nation to have stealth technology vehind the U.S. and Russia

See anything familiar? The F-22 Raptor has similar canted tail-fins, a similar bubble canopy and nose section, and both have no flat surfaces to help avoid radar detection

Wired claims that the current batch of U.S. fighter jets are struggling due to labour disputes, cost over-runs, and lethal design flaws.

First off, the U.S.'s Lockheed’s F-22 Raptor - the latest stealth fighter which cost $66.7 billion to develop - have been poisoning its pilots owing to a faulty oxygen system. Meanwhile, workers at Lockheed’s F-35 factory have gone on strike, with no end in sight.

The F-35 has also been delayed by several years due to design costs - and the delay means that the cost of building thousands of new jets has risen by hundreds of billions of dollars.

China originally claimed the J-20 would not be ready until 2017 at the earliest, and the U.S, countered and said it would likely be 2020 or later.

However, the test flight shows how close to completion the first models are, and Wired points out that China eschews the U.S. system of carefully testing new jets over a decade.

Instead, China holds preliminary tests and then passes the jets over to the military, and reply on feedback to improve the next generation.

The U.S. tried to emulate this model with the F-35 - but encountered design flaws which ended up costing the military billions of dollars.

Wired said the Chinese were using imported Russian engines to power the the J-20, and said this could lead to future issues and delays in rolling out the stealth jets.

And Russia makes three: The MiG jet was built to rival the U.S. stealth programme

Last year China was caught in an international row after the U.S. charged and jailed Indian-American Noshir Gowadia, a former B-2 stealth bomber engineer, for leaking secrets to China. He was jailed for 32 years.

And when the J-20 was unveiled, other nations - incredulous how quickly the Chinese has developed and tested the stealth fighter aircraft - said the technology must have been stolen.

One of the more extraordinary claims was that it had gained invaluable information from parts of an American F-117 Nighthawk stealth bomber that had been shot down over Serbia during the Kosovo War – the only F-117 ever shot down.

The Chinese insist that the country's J-20 stealth fighter jet was the work of the country's own designers and engineers.

An unnamed official was quoted as saying: 'It's not the first time foreign media has smeared newly unveiled Chinese military technologies. It's meaningless to respond to such a speculation.'

Chinese pilot Xu Yongling said that the J-20 possesses an advanced supersonic cruise ability and powerful air mobility that are technological breakthroughs for the country.

He added it would have been impossible for China to glean technology from the F-117 as the 'outdated' technology was behind the current generation of fighters.
The Columbus Sport 130' Hybrid is powered by a Toyota Prius style mixture of electricity and diesel that reduce the ships emissions

Its makers claim it is the world’s first environmentally friendly yacht which lets you to save the planet whilst cruising along. But they have not skimped on luxury on the $30million vessel with three plush cabins and a deck dubbed ‘the beach club’ big enough for eight people to relax and sunbathe.

The Columbus Sport is currently being built by Italian boat builders Palumbo and will be ready by 2013 when the full specifications will be released. It is 120ft long and has an aluminium exterior and light ‘skeletal structure’ meaning it needs less energy to power. Palumbo has revealed that the boat will comply with the latest regulations as laid down by the International Maritime Organisation’s MARPOL convention, which regulates emissions on seagoing vessels.
The yacht is powered by a mixture of diesel and electricity, reducing its emissions

It has a dual powered diesel and electric engine that means can run on electricity only up to 7.5 knots - once the boat needs to go faster the diesel kicks in. The Columbus also emits less noise pollution as the electrical engines are quieter. Inside however, it is luxury all the way with huge windows in the main room which has been dubbed a ‘saloon’, a vast flybridge and plush interiors with Breccia Sarda and Emperador Dark marble throughout. In total there are three cabins and the owner’s room meaning it can accommodate up to eight people

Giuseppe Palumbo, general manager of Palumbo Shipyards in Naples, said: ‘The boat is really an innovative concept because it melds together very modern lines and high technology with environmentally friendly features’.

Whilst the Palumbo yacht has not skimped on luxury it has some way to go before it is the plushest in the world, such as the 414ft-long Octopus owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. He bought the opulent vessel in 2009 which came complete with a crew of 60, two helicopters, its own submarine, basketball court and music studio and a remote controlled vehicle that can crawl on the ocean floor. Guests have included a string of brunettes and billionaire financier George Soros. The yacht, which is the ninth longest in the world, costs $384,000 a week to run
Capped with a brushed aluminum and stainless steel finish, Marc built the car himself over the top of a 174hp Mazda rotary engine, designing a body which could function as a road-vehicle, yet also be waterproof when hitting the lakes and seas for a spin. The car is one of 25 vehicles that is currently vying for the title of fastest amphibious vehicle.

When Marc started building the car in 2006, he aimed to reach 60mph - beating the water-speed record of 45mph set by an amphibious car. That record has now risen to 60mph by a range of competing cars - although with no official body to rule on the faster, many vehicles are claiming the title. Still, Marc says that if the next owner upgrade his engine, they can reach even greater speeds and land the record themselves - and it is unlikely anyone will top his land-speed record for an amphibian car of 125mph. Indeed, with an engine switch, the car is built out so that it can take speeds of up to 180mph on the road.

By land, by sea... by bike? The car has 'boot space' on the side of the vehicle

Writing on Fantasy Junction, where the car is for sale, Marc said: 'Building Sea Lion has been an enjoyable exploration. I have provided the basic architecture for the car and resolved every conflicting interaction between Car and Boat.

'The next chapter of this project is to provide an ultimate engine and begin speed trials. There are many highly qualified rotary engine builders who have decades of experience making reliable high performance improvements.

'It is best to bring a specialist builder on board for the rest of this endeavor and bring the car up to its full potential.

'I am willing to continue working with the buyer on all future modifications. I will remain available as a consultant, engineer, machinist and psychiatrist for whoever decides to venture further into the amphibious record books.'
We've rounded up five of the coolest for your viewing enjoyment after the break.

5. Fisker Surf

Unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Fisker Surf supercar offers "a pair of electric motors fed by a battery [that] powers the rear wheels, [and] a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-pot engine used as a range-extender when the battery runs out of charge." Fisker says the Surf's drivetrain now puts out over 981 torques and blasts onto a top speed of 125mph thanks to new engine mapping, while that raucous engine - a Top Gear bugbear - gets quieter exhausts.

4. DMC-12 EV

DeLorean fans rejoice! The DeLorean Motor Company of Texas has partnered with Epic EV to produce an all-electric DeLorean "rated for 260 horsepower with a maximum speed of 125MPH." It features "a mysterious box labeled 'Flux' on it and aside from the iPhone dock, 125 mile per hour speed and 260 horsepower, built-in GPS navigation system, DMC is remaining mum on the vehicle's specs."

3. Nissan Leaf NISMO RC

Sure, the Nissan Leaf NISMO RC has a top speed of 93mph, powered by a 107hp electric motor, but aesthetically, it's leaps and bounds ahead of the standard model. Plus, it weighs just 2068-pounds, thanks to a carbon fiber chassis. The Leaf Nismo RC can do 0 to 60mph in 6.85 seconds, and can stay out on the track reaching speeds up to 93mph for about 20 minutes before running out of juice.

2. Peugeot BB1

We have seen the future of electric-powered micro cars, and it's the Peugeot BB1. It's "fitted with electric motors in the rear wheels, designed in association with Michelin. This original setup maximizes the interior space." The color display and the vehicle's audio system provide an ideal setting for your "smartphone" functions: telephone, navigation, internet access, radio, MP3, etc.; just connect your device to the USB jack, or the 12V socket if necessary.

1. Quimera All Electric GT

Called the Quimera All Electric GT (AEGT), this vehicle is unlike any other in that it boasts three electric motors that generate a total of 700bhp. At 3300-pounds, it rockets from 0-60mph in just 3.5-seconds and is good for a half-hour of track time when its lithium-polymer batteries are fully charged. If you've never heard of Quimera, you're not alone. It's not even a car company. Rather, it's a consortium of major multinational companies, government agencies and schools, all of which have worldwide name recognition.
But one concept – the ‘Hover Car’ – impressed the firm so much a short YouTube video was made to showcase it. It’s not quite as exciting as the flying DeLorean from Back to the Future – but Volkwagen’s airborne vehicle would certainly turn a few heads.

Air we go: Volkswagen's concept Hover Car

Flying game: The Hover Car glides just a foot or so above the ground

The video shows an enthusiastic couple stepping into what looks like a giant yo-yo, with clear doors. They then take it for a spin to show what a journey of the future may look like. The Hover Car sits just a foot or two in the air, using electromagnetic road networks to get from A to B. Maneuverability is a definite plus-point, as it can turn easily on the spot.

While the Hover Car doesn’t look very sturdy, occupants’ safety is enhanced by on-board sensors that detect obstacles and a computer that will cut speed automatically should a crash be imminent. The unique car was the result of Volkwagen's ‘People’s Car Project’, which was launched in China last year. The project's website received 33million visitors and more than 119,000 ideas.

Hi-tech: Sensors monitor traffic around the car

The ‘Music Car’ and the ‘Smart Key’ joined the Hover Car in being presented at Auto China 2012 in Beijing. ‘The creative ideas from the “People’s Car Project” give us a valuable insight into the wishes of Chinese drivers.’ Simon Loasby, Head of Design at Volkswagen Group China, said. ‘The trend is towards safe cars that can easily navigate overcrowded roads and have a personal, emotional and exciting design.’ The Smart Key takes up the trend towards the stronger integration of online technologies in vehicles.

Hitting the right notes: The exterior colour of the Music Car changes with the driver's choice of music

The slim nine-millimetre key has a high-resolution touchscreen which keeps the driver up to date on the fuel situation, climate conditions and the car’s security via a 3G network. The driver can also monitor the vehicle from a bird’s eye perspective through real-time satellite transmission. The Music Car, meanwhile, is equipped with organic light emitting diodes, with the exterior colour of the vehicle changing with the driver’s choice of music.
The XKX is expected to be unveiled to the world soon and provide a glimpse of the astonishing cutting-edge science which will be driving cars of the future.

Inspired by the iconic E-Type, made between 1961 and 1975 and recently voted the most beautiful car ever, the sleek car boasts some extraordinary features.

Stunning: The Jaguar XKX concept car features amazing energy capturing bodywork that recharges the battery as air flows over it

Design: The inspiration behind the breathtaking XKX concept car was Jaguar's iconic E-type

The body of the XKX is covered by a layer of so called piezoelectric cells which helps recharge the batteries from the force of the air flowing over the body.

This layers of microscopic ripples are stimulated by the pressure and friction of the wind which increases the faster the car travels.

It is hoped this radical technology will recoup some of the near 60per cent energy lost from forcing the vehicle through the air.

Efficiency and performance were a top priority for designer Marin Myftiu, with great attention to aerodynamics.

Large side deflector intakes at the front were created in order to carry more air to the rear of the car, thus cutting drag.

The mirrors also fold into the body work to prevent them from being damaged.

It is unlikely this vehicle will even be put into production, but elements of the design are expected to be incorporated into Jaguar’s future cars.

Sleek: The curves and beautiful design of the E-type inspired the shape of the new Jaguar XKX

The first model is the ‘Crossover’ which is actually great in winters, when the snow makes your life hard,, while the little ‘Sportback ‘ which comes with a nice big rear wing. Though it doesn’t have all-wheel-drive, riding this supermini can be fun. It also has a specious interior so it may be a family car, but only if your family uses to travel light since the boot is really small. The price of 16,499$ is complety justified.

This Mazda is nice outside and great inside. It is appreciated for the quality of its materials, as well as for the low emissions and fuel consumption. It s not roomier that it can be expected for a car of this size, but there is enough space for four adults to sit comfortable. It has an impressive list of standard equipment, such as: power windows, mirrors and locks, air conditioning and electronic stability control. It has what it takes to be an excellent choice, however, its price of 14, 795$ is a bit too high for such a small car, considering the fact that there are cheaper oneson the market, equally well equipped, or even better.
10. Scion xB

The Scion is considered the best and the biggest of all the compact boxed cars. It is not very cheap when it comes to fuel consumption, but its cool aspect, as well as its amazing storage spaces may help you forget this aspect. More important, it is a really safe car, as the 2010 Scion xB ranked first in an ‘Insurance Top for Highway Safety’ . Scion xB is fun in the town and great on highways as well. Priced at 16,000$, this might be an excellence choice for any family or single driver.
(In just the past year, Lambo has introduced the Super Trofeo Stradale, the Spyder Performante, the rear-drive LP550-2, and the Bicolore and Tricolore.) The first rear-drive convertible from Lamborghini since the 1998 Diablo SV roadster, the LP550-2 Spyder is a rear-drive version of the LP560-4 ragtop for a bit less money: $211,995 (plus yet-undetermined gas-guzzler tax) versus $232,095.

The one-year-only LP550-2 Valentino Balboni coupe started this rear-drive-Gallardo business. Then, Lamborghini patted itself on the back for that idea by announcing that it would continue to sell rear-drive Gallardos without the Balboni name and exclusive details. Given Lambo’s recent fixation with the Gallardo, the appearance of the LP550-2 coupe at the L.A. auto show is little surprise. Its suspension has been uniquely tuned for the Spyder’s lower weight and the altered weight bias of the rear-drive configuration, a step that included allowing more body roll. In past testing, we’ve found the rear-drive versions of the Gallardo to actually be more prone to understeer than the AWDs, possibly as a safety countermeasure to the 542 hp directed only to the back. We’ll be happy to determine if this again is the case.
Lamborghini Gallardo Testing…Boobs?
I cannot believe what drivers these days have to resort to to test the speed of their cars. In this Lamborghini Gallardo boobs are used to see the acceleration performance. A very low tech solution but alot more fun than the traditional gauges. Now, don’t get too excited guys…BOOBS ARE FOR BABIES !!
And we don’t mean the meek golf clap of a couple of newbie journalists or the lone, deliberate thwacking of a smiling PR guy. This was actual, apparently sincere applause for a car. Honda’s U.S. chief, Takanobu Ito, who served on the engineering team for the first NSX, appeared to inflate as he breathed in the goodwill.

Then Acura went for the goodwill kill and revealed that the reincarnation of the first real Japanese supercar would take place largely in the United States. It would be developed and produced in Ohio under the guidance of a guy named Ted. Ted Klaus, that is. He’s the vehicle-dynamics guru alleged to have a backside more golden than anyone else in the company’s U.S. operation. If anyone can pull off a legit new NSX, went the buzz, he’s the guy.

Acura promises that within three years, the NSX will again prowl the world’s highways (and racetracks), looking to embarrass more pure-blooded sports cars. That’s the legacy of the original car that went out of production in 2005. And that’s the high bar that the new NSX will have to surpass to be considered a success.

Unlike the original NSX, which used high technology in pursuit primarily of low weight (aluminum unibody and suspension components, titanium connecting rods), the new car will rely on Honda’s hybrid know-how. Primary power for the rear wheels will come from a mid-mounted, direct-injected V-6. That engine will be bolted to a dual-clutch, paddle-shifted automatic that incorporates an electric motor, similar to Honda’s other hybrid offerings. But that setup will be augmented by two electric motors up front to create a four-wheel-drive arrangement the company is calling, enticingly, Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. Perhaps best understood using the more common “torque vectoring” descriptor, this new setup can shuttle acceleration and braking torque from left to right, although here it’s done completely electrically. The system also would allow electric-only front-wheel drive. When the engine is running, we expect the electrified wheels would be called into action only when extra power or traction is needed. This all gets loaded into a tidy package that is several inches shorter overall than a Ferrari 458 Italia or a McLaren MP4-12C. That is, if the dimensions of the concept represent production specs.

Unlike the nearly half-million-dollar LFA from Acura’s Japanese luxury-car competitor, Lexus, the new NSX should be within reach of the merely rich. We estimate the price to be between the cost of a Porsche 911 and an Audi R8, both prime competitors. So plan on an entry figure of about $110,000. And Acura isn’t shy about saying that the handsome concept is the car it is aiming to build, so don’t expect a design that diverges too much from what you see here.

If the company can manage that, then the hearty round of applause the concept received will have been more than justified.

What It Is: A redesigned ML with a very low roofline and a few design cues from the CLS. It will have a big rear hatch and folding back seats. The MLC’s low greenhouse corresponds to the body’s diminished ground clearance.

Why It Matters: Following the unexpected global success of the BMW X6, Mercedes would like to profit from the trend toward “SUV coupes” in Asia, the Middle East, and North America. It’s an expression of Dieter Zetsche’s desire to make the brand cooler.

Platform: Based on the new ML’s, but about 200 pounds lighter. It will get the ML’s suspension with the next-gen GL’s air springs. An off-road package will not be available.

Powertrain: The MLC will offer a choice of two engines: a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 making roughly 335 horsepower and a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 with 518 horses (550 with the AMG Performance package). We doubt there’ll be a diesel engine, as the MLC will have limited appeal in Europe.

Competition: BMW X6, Infiniti FX.

What Might Go Wrong: Because of growing competition in the SUV-coupe arena, Mercedes might not sell as many MLCs as expected: The segment’s only good for about 60,000 cars worldwide right now. If China comes up with new regulations against monster SUVs for megacities, sales would crumble there.

Estimated Arrival and Price: Summer 2014. Prices should be about $6000 higher than an equivalent ML.
Why is the food at Outback Steakhouse mostly Cajun-style? Why can’t Jennifer Aniston find true love? And why would Subaru and Toyota, two companies whose fortunes are built on mainstream sedan sales, collaborate on a rear-drive sports car?

The latter question is a bit easier to answer from the Subaru BRZ perspective. For one, Subaru has a currently breathing reputation for building sporty cars: They may sell in limited volumes, but the WRX and STI are nevertheless Subarus. And Subaru says that the engine in its BRZ, a 2.0-liter flat-four making its first public appearance in this car, will form the basis of its next turbo motor. For its part, Toyota says that its version of the car—to be sold as the Toyota 86 in Japan, as the GT 86 in at least the U.K., and as the Scion FR-S here—makes sense as a first thrust in its plan to again build sporty, fun-to-drive vehicles. Still, this isn’t a car that most people saw coming from either manufacturer.

Cheese Fries, Please!
Then again, regardless of the boomerangs mounted on the walls and the “Chaze Frois, Plaze!” coasters, Outback Steakhouse’s Alice Springs chicken is delicious—and devastatingly unhealthy, but that’s beside the point. The BRZ is likewise delectable; our only gripe about the way it drives is a chassis that leads to understeer at the limit. That, however, is much less likely to give you a heart attack than a jumbo honey-mustard-marinated chicken bosom hidden under a pile of bacon and smothered in melted cheese. Indeed, right up until the nose starts to chatter off line, Subaru’s new coupe is gifted with exceptional balance and clairvoyant reflexes.

The understeer isn’t a deal-breaker; with perfectly timed and moderated inputs (or with huge, pimp-slap jerks on the wheel and heavy stomps on the go pedal), it is possible to avoid it all together and turn it into delicious oversteer. When the rear end goes, even in the wet, the BRZ slides slowly and progressively. It’s so easy to catch that you might find yourself fishing in your pocket for spare change with one hand while the other meters yaw around an off-ramp. (Subaru says that Toyota’s suspension tune will vary slightly, a tad softer in the front and stiffer out back.) The brake pedal feels a little less wired than the rest of the car, but the binders wind the speedo back toward 0 in a hurry.

Conducting the chassis is steering that is more immediate than anything this side of the Lotus factory. Its heft is perfect for resisting unintentional inputs at the limit. Feedback falls short of perfection, but only slightly; blame the electric steering if you must. The electric motor assisting the BRZ’s rack is mounted high up on the firewall, contributing to a slightly higher center of gravity but simultaneously shifting the front/rear weight balance a touch rearward.

Weight Watchers
In developing the BRZ, Subaru took an almost maniacal approach to weight and its management, keeping it low and evenly distributed between the car’s axles. The company claims that 54 percent of this car’s mass rides on the front wheels and 46 over the rear, and says that its center of gravity is right around 18 inches high. That latter figure rivals or beats the measurements for the Porsche Cayman and Mazda RX-8, among others.

Helping keep the mass snug against Mother Earth is the FA flat-four. Compared to the FB four found in other Subies, the FA’s intake is 2.6 inches lower and the oil pan clings closer to the crankcase, allowing it to be mounted with its crankshaft centerline 2.4 inches lower. Amazingly, the engine is mounted 9.4 inches farther back in the chassis than an Impreza’s four. A Subaru spokesman says the two engines share “maybe a few screws,” but are otherwise completely separate pieces. We’re told the weight difference between the two is negligibly in favor of the A. Placing the engine so far rearward of course helps balance the car, but it also precludes Subaru from fitting an all-wheel-drive system. The company says that it has no room for a turbocharger either, but after peering under the hood, we disagree. Besides, Subaru desperately needs something to tie this car to the rest of its lineup, and a turbocharged STI model would be the perfect solution. Although the BRZ doesn’t need more power, it certainly could handle more. We’re guessing that a turbo will be part of whatever mid-cycle updates this car sees in two or three years.

Despite a displacement difference of just 3 cc, the naturally aspirated FA and FB fours have dramatically different outputs. The B’s 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque (as installed in the Impreza) lag 52 and 6 behind the A’s 200 and 151—Subaru’s stated output—while the A’s 7400-rpm redline is 800 higher. Thank Toyota’s fuel-injection setup, which squirts both via intake ports and directly into the cylinder—the system is Big T’s lone contribution to the engine—and allows a crushing compression ratio of 12.5:1. “Crushing” is not a descriptor we’d employ for the acceleration, although we estimate a 0-to-60-mph time of around six seconds flat with the six-speed manual; add a couple of tenths with the six-speed auto. Top speed is said to be 143 mph. A resonator pipes sound into the cabin, and above 5000 rpm, there’s enough noise inside the car that you’ll need to scream to talk. Not that you’ll be having much conversation. That said, we wouldn’t call the quality of the sound unmistakable; it could be taken for a number of undesirable things. Having heard what aftermarket exhaust companies do for other Subaru flat-fours, though, we’re confident that they can coax a better voice out of this 7400-rpm screamer.

In spite of its higher output, the FA should still manage 30 mpg on the highway, according to Subaru. Underbody paneling helps keep a clean aerodynamic profile, although the company still hasn’t decided if the treatment will be standard on all U.S. cars or only on higher trim levels.

Even the Weenies are Treated Well
As mentioned, two six-speeds are available, a manual and an automatic. Following our drive of the BRZ in Japan, the manual had us seeking a temple at which we might make an offering of thanks. The clutch pedal is a touch light—and a touch light on feel—but snaps to attention right off the floor and engages smoothly, and the stubby shifter snicks between gates with ease. Heretics who buy their sports cars with automatics will at least get a good unit. There are two modes in the Subaru: Drive and Sport. Wheel-mounted paddles are standard; in D, the transmission allows them to make gearchange suggestions but still upshifts at redline and downshifts when the driver floors the accelerator. In Sport mode, however, paddle commands are gospel—the way God’s lazy, automatic-driving half-brother intended.

While most of the engineering and chassis work is Subaru’s doing, the styling fell to Toyota. It apparently drew a basic coupe shape and—well, it must have seen it created something less than sultry but stuck with it anyway. It’s good enough. The view from abaft is actually fairly exciting, with the slope of the greenhouse hesitating just slightly to form a decklid before tumbling into the rear fascia. Only the front fascia, badges, and maybe wheels separate the BRZ from its Toyota—and Scion—sibling. The suggestion of flares on the front fenders merely alludes to the muscular (some might say exaggerated) styling of the various concept cars, but the U-shaped view from the driver’s seat over the scooped-out hood is at least unique. Visibility in all directions is much better than most sports cars.

Interior space, on the other hand, is just about par. It’s fine up front, and average/shortish adults might even be happy in the back for shorter trips. Subie touts this as the shortest rear-drive 2+2 on the market. So it is. It also says that the car can accommodate a forward-facing child seat in the back. A rear-facing seat, on the other hand, would probably only fit if the parent riding shotgun rides shotgun in a car following behind. The trunk will hold just seven cubic feet of stuff, although both halves of the rear seatback fold for larger loads. According to Subaru, the space was designed from the beginning to hold a set of racing tires and a toolbox in this configuration, although that claim coincided with a PowerPoint slide entitled “Unexpected Utility”; we suspect that’s probably the real story behind the tire-hauling ability. Or maybe that’s why the tires are just 215 millimeters wide, as fitting a set in the car requires a two-tire stack. The BRZ goes on sale in spring of 2012 as an early ’13 model, at a base price we’re now told will be around $25,000. Asked to make sense of the BRZ, a Subaru representative says, “It makes sense if you sell enough of them.” In the U.S., Subaru thinks that 5000 to 7000 per year would be enough. Ultimately, though, a car this good doesn’t need to make sense: Its brilliance is all the explanation we need.
They have enough gold there to cover a Porsche entirely or enough opulence to put leather on the body of a car. Now, forget about these crazy habits and focus on these amazing ten examples of automotive airbrushing! You have to be a talented artist to make such detailed drawings…
One of the most popular cars to come from Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti, the G sedan, coupe and convertible was first introduced as the G35 in the early 2000′s, mainly to compete against the BMW 3-Series. The next generation G will be made in the same platform, which was used to manufacture Infiniti’s recently announced models. The overall length and width of the sedan version is supposedly based on the Etherea concept.
The Infiniti G coupe version is expected to follow the sedan, and should hit the markets some time in 2015. The company also plans to develop a successor to the EX compact luxury crossover that could be based on the G platform. Even though some of the details of the G-series have been released, the engine specifications are not out yet. A hybrid version of the Infiniti G platform is also said to be in the works, even as the diesel powered G’s will be the only ones offering Mercedes-Benz engines.

Like the current models, it is pretty much expected that the new vehicles would deliver impressive performance stats, and we expect it to feature a completely new 530hp 3.7L twin-turbocharged, direct injected V6 engine. The Infiniti G series will be produced alongside the GT-R at Nissan’s Tochigi plant and the vehicle will be priced closely to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.
Their aspect is also jaw dropping, making these cars worth every single cent you spend to buy them. The super cars of our days are not only fast, but very light-most of them are made of carbon fiber-stylish and innovative. Owning such a queen of beauty must be a great experience and very satisfactory. Here are the top 10 most costly cars in the world. Enjoy!

1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport -$2,400,000

Opening the list of the most expensive cars in the world is the Bugatti Veyron. This car was named after the racing driver Pierre Veyron (1903-1970). This luxurious vehicle is considered the most powerful in the world and it is also the fastest. Yet another record is the acceleration speed, as this amazing car reaches 100 km/h in an astonishing 2, 5 seconds. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport can touch as much as 431 km/h, which is truly incredible! Its consumption is, as expected, matching the performances: when driving in the city, the fortunate owner of the base model of this car must expect to consume 24L/100km.

2. Lamborghini Reventon – $1,600,000

The most amazing Lamborghini ever, Reventon can reach 60 in 3, 3 seconds which is still outrageous. The limited number of available models (only 20 were produced), together with its great aspect and performances were the main reasons for which the price went so high. Only by seeing this futuristic looking automobile one can understand why all the cars were sold before they were even made.

3. Koeniggseg Agera R -$1,600,000

In the 2011 Geneva Car Show, the Koeniggseg Agera R was revealed. It is a car which really takes driving to the next level. Very strong, though very, very light his is the car which overtook the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, not because of the engine, which is actually less powerful that that of the previously mentioned Bugatti, but because it weight less. We do not have though full data on the subject yet.

4. Mc Laren F1 – $ 970,000
This is another limited series, comprising only 100 impressively powerful cars. It was produced some 15 years ago, between 1994 and 1998, and at that time, the Mc Laren F1 was the most expensive car in the world. Nevertheless, this super car is still in the top 3, which speaks greatly of its performances. Being old did not make it slow: it takes 3, 3 seconds to go from 0 to 100 and it may reach as much as 386 km/h.

5. Ferrari Enzo -$ 670,000

One of the most famous and expensive cars in the world, the Ferrari Enzo was named after the owner of the company. It’s beautiful, stylish design is one of the reasons why this sports car is so expensive. There were only 400 releases of this model, which also contributed to its price. Moreover, today, the price reaches $ 1,000, 000 and it continues to go up, as this model becomes more treasured every time a Ferrari Enzio is crashed in an accident, and hence the number of existing cars goes down.

6. Pagani Zonda C12F -$667,321

The Pagani Zonda was produced by a small, independent manufacturer in Italy. Despite this aspect, it can compete at any time with the cars produced by the most famous manufacturers in the world, which says a lot about its qualities. The highest speed this car can run with of is of 346km/h and it can reach 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. Presented for the first time at the Geneva Auto Show in 2005, the beautiful Pagani Zonda seems to have a lot of fans and was welcomed with interest by car enthusiasts. At this price, it should better be so!

7. SSC Ultimate Aero -$654,400

Shelby SuperCars made this awesome sports vehicle which may be the best investment one can make. This is because this car overtops the base Bugatti Veyron (407 km/h) in what concerns the speed. Touching an incredible 414 km/h, this is the third fastest car in the world at this moment. It also reaches 100 km/h in an outrageous 2.7 seconds while the cost of it is way lower than that of the most expensive car in the world. In addition to all these features, it is said that a limited number of only 25 Ultimate Aero cars will ever be produced, which makes this car even more appealing.

On the 7th place in the top 10 most expensive cars in the world we find the first American production vehicle. This great race car is also the 4th fastest in the world, going from 0 to 100 in 3.2 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 400km/h. Americans have more than one reason to be proud of the Saleen S7!

And maybe that’s enough, I’m not sure; but the Internet has documented this phenomenon and it has culminated in this list of 16 miniature car trailers. One can only assume that the owners of these trailers are a fun group of people!
Woburn, Massachusetts-based Terrafugia Inc. said that its prototype flying car has completed its first flight, bringing the company closer to its goal of selling the flying car within the next year.

The vehicle - dubbed the Transition - has two seats, four wheels and wings that fold up so it can be driven like a car. Last month, it flew at 1,400 feet for eight minutes. Commercial jets fly at 35,000 feet.

Test flight: On March 23 Terrafugia's Transition flying car soared for eight minutes at 1,400 feet

Around 100 people have already put down a $10,000 deposit to get a Transition when they go on sale, and those numbers will likely rise after Terrafugia introduces the Transition to the public later this week at the New York Auto Show. But don't expect it to show up in too many driveways. It's expected to cost $279,000.

And it won't help if you're stuck in traffic. The car needs a runway.

The flying car has always had a special place in the American imagination. Inventors have been trying to make them since the 1930s, according to Robert Mann, an airline industry analyst who owns R.W. Mann & Co. in Port Washington, New York.

But Mann thinks Terrafugia has come closer than anyone to making the flying car a reality. The government has already granted the company's request to use special tires and glass that are lighter than normal automotive ones, to make it easier for the vehicle to fly.

When its not soaring in the air, the Transition's wings fold up to make it a road-ready two-seat car

The federal government has eased certain regulations to allow vehicles like the Transition to come closer to reality

The government has also temporarily exempted the Transition from the requirement to equip vehicles with electronic stability control, which would add about six pounds to the vehicle. The Transition is currently going through a battery of automotive crash tests to make sure it meets federal safety standards.

Mann said Terrafugia was helped by the Federal Aviation Administration's decision five years ago to create a separate set of standards for light sport aircraft. The standards govern the size and speed of the plane and licensing requirements for pilots, which are less restrictive than requirements for pilots of larger planes.

Terrafugia says an owner would need to pass a test and complete 20 hours of flying time to be able to fly the Transition, a relatively low hurdle for pilots.
The Transition can reach around 70 miles per hour on the road and 115 in the air, spokesman Steven Moscaritolo said. It flies using a 23-gallon tank of automotive fuel and burns 5 gallons per hour in the air. On the ground, it gets 35 miles per gallon.

Mann questions the size of the market for the Transition. The general aviation market has been in decline for two decades, he said, largely because of fuel costs and the high cost of liability for manufacturers. Also, fewer people are learning how to fly. 'This is not going to be an inexpensive aircraft to produce or market,' he said. It has some uniqueness, and will get some sales, but the question is, could it ever be a profitable enterprise?' Mann sees the western US as the most likely market, where people could fly instead of driving long distances.
Terrafugia has been working on flying cars since 2006, and has already pushed back the launch once. Last summer the company said it would have to delay expected 2011 deliveries due to design challenges and problems with parts suppliers. With the appearance in New York, the company hopes to attract the eye of customers as well as investors. 'We are introducing ourselves as a viable company to the automotive world,' Moscaritolo said.
