Porsche 918 Spyder

Supercars generally have the reputation for being gas-guzzlers as they rage across our roads with a need for speed. But the new Porsche 918 Spyder may be about to change all that - for while it manages a top speed of 201mph, it also manages an economic 94 miles to the gallon. That makes the Porsche more economic than the car with one of the greenest reputations - the Toyota Prius - which can manage 72.4mpg.

Chinese Stealth Fighter

Flying over the skies of Chengdu in southwest China, the Chinese's latest stealth plane - the J-20 Might Dragon - is a testament to China's growing prowess in military technology.

The debut flight of the plane may serve as a warning to the U.S. air force, which has been plagued by a list of problems in their jets - including the revelation that some of their jets have a faulty oxygen system which have slowly been poisoning their pilots.

A new super yacht lets the wealthy go boating without ruining the planet - thanks to an eco friendly design and a hybrid engine. The Columbus Sport 130' Hybrid is powered by a Toyota Prius style mixture of electricity and diesel that reduce the ship’s emissions. It also has a bilge water separator to stop oily deposits spreading out to sea, even though it is not required by law.

A car enthusiast has completed his six-year project to turn his dream sports car into a 60mph sea-worth vehicle. The Sea Lion, as inventor Marc Witt calls it, is a completely bespoke car that can do 125mph on the roads - and then fly down the pier into the water and keep up a respectable speed as it sails past the yachts and boats. And this car could be yours today, as Marc is now ready to cast the car-boat hybrid adrift, putting it up for sale for $259,500.

But one concept – the ‘Hover Car’ – impressed the firm so much a short YouTube video was made to showcase it. Flying Hovercraft

Able to glide over land and water and soar through the air, this $190,000 flying hovercraft could be the ultimate millionaire's toy. Available through U.S luxury goods firm Hammacher Schlemmer, the bright yellow amphibious and airborne vehicle features a 130 horsepower twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and can hit speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. The craft can take to the air in short bursts and reach heights of fifty-feet above the water, ice or land.
